For pilots who wish to go beyond Level 4.

This is how it works: book the exam slot and you will receive a brief memo with instructions. The exam starts with a short conversation that is not recorded, followed by a briefing to remind you of the flow of the test and relevant criteria. The recorded interview requires you to answer a set of questions related to aviation. Please note that it is not your technical knowledge that is being tested, but your abilities to talk and understand. The test will feature sample radio calls and/or ATIS transmissions and is rounded off with an open interview of 15 minutes, where we talk about your life as a pilot, your hobbies etc. The test is carried out face-to-face (camera on) and voice-only (camera off) according to AMC1 FCL.055 (Annex I to ED Decision 2020/005 / R). It typically lasts 30-40 minutes.

For pilots who want to go for a Level 4 only.

Level 4 is generally shorter and kept simpler in terms of content and number of questions. The recorded interview typically lasts a maximum of 30 minutes and requires you to answer a set of questions related to aviation. Please note that it is not your technical knowledge that is being tested, but your abilities to talk and understand. Radio Calls are simpler and there is typically no ATIS readback. Level 4 is rounded off with an open interview of around 15 minutes, where we talk about your life as a pilot, your hobbies, etc. The test is carried out face-to-face (camera on) and voice-only (camera off) according to AMC1 FCL.055 (Annex I to ED Decision 2020/005 / R). 

Specifically designed for pilots (typically English natives) who hold a non-EASA licence and are in the process of converting to EASA licences.

Individuelles Sprachtraining für alle, die ihre Proficiency steigern und sich auf die Prüfung vorbereiten wollen, inkl. pdf-Lernunterlage.

Das Sprachtraining wird bedarfsgerecht zugeschnitten, wir fliegen im Prinzip eine Platzrunde, "The Language Traffic Pattern", die dich fit für die Prüfung macht und auf alle Kriterien (Vocabulary, Structure, Pronunciation, Comprehension, Fluency, Interaction) eingeht.

So läuft das Training ab:

Departure Briefing

Wir treffen uns online zu einem kurzen Call um deine Bedürfnisse herauszufinden. Dazu führen wir einen Teil der Unterhaltung auf Englisch. Mit dieser Vorbereitung können die Inhalte besser auf dich zugeschnitten werden.

Es folgen 5 Trainingseinheiten von 60-70 Minuten:

1 Take-off

Wir sprechen über spannende Themen aus der Luftfahrt und üben ICAO Sprechfunkstandards (Fokus Vocabulary und Pronunciation).

2 Crosswind

Wir wiederholen relevante Themen aus Grammatik und Syntax, v. a. Zeiten, Verben, Adverbs and Adjectives (Fokus Structure).

3 Downwind

Wir vertiefen das Gelernte in anwendungsorientierten Situationen und üben Radio Calls (Fokus Comprehension).

4 Base

Wir „challengen“ dein Wissen, du wirst quasi auf die Landung vorbereitet (Fokus Interaction und Fluency).

5 Final

Wir spielen eine beispielhafte Prüfung durch, mit allem, was dazugehört.

Die Termine vereinbaren wir individuell. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf gesprochenem Englisch.

Landung

Die Landung ist deine echte ICAO Prüfung. Nachdem diese eine andere Person sein muss als dein Trainer, vermitteln wir gerne Kontakte.

The tutorial includes a section on typical Radio Telephony phraseology in the UK. You will receive a pdf. summary together with useful links, e. g. for NATS and MetOffice resources. And most importantly: there will be time for your questions!
